Making an Espresso
Beyond just being the basic ingredient of all cafeinated drinks, the espresso itself is a drink to enjoy as a the purest product of a good machine. It can be made concentrated - "tight" or "short" - or it can be made more diluted, or "long". A typical espresso shot consists of 1 oz (or 30 ml) of pure caffeinated delight.
- Brew a shot of espresso into a ceramic cup. At its short setting, a good espresso machine should produce approximately 1 oz of espresso topped off with a bit of crema.
- Add sugar to taste.
